What is sinusitis?

What is sinusitis? Its a sickness. But what is it exactly?

Sinusitis is a condition of swelling of the one of the four pairs of sinuses you have. It could be between the eyes, above your eyes, or below your eyes. We often disorient that when we have sinusitis it is somewhat related to having nasal problems. Yes that can be the case.

When mucus is not drained from your sinus or your sinus gets swollen up thats when you have sinusitis. Sinusitis can be caused by bacteria or a virus.

How do you know if you have sinusitis? When you have pain in the areas of your face like over the eye areas. Nasal congestions can be one sign as well. Post nasal drip is a clear sign that this is a chronic

Treatment of sinusitis is based on what caused the swelling. If its by a bacteria you may take decongestants, pain relievers, or antibiotics. If its by viral you may take decongestants, pain relievers, or nasal sprays. Sometimes sinusitis clears up on its own. There are other methods that dont require taking medications. Use a humidifier in your home or office to make the air better. Just like nasal sprays, salt water sprays also aids as well to provide relief.

The treatment of sinusitis depends on the person itself. That person may choose to have medications or other methods. But the main cure to sinusitis and all the other illness is prevention. One should avoid air pollutants. Allergy-causing agents should be avoided as well. Eat a balanced meal and you should exercise regularly to build your immune system. You may drain your sinus in order to prevent clogged sinuses. You can do this by sleeping with your head elevated from the bed. Just follow these prevention methods and youll surely be having a worry free sinusitis.
